Game of Thrones XXX: A Porn Parody

Another quick thing. I guess even just the title of this post is going to cause a huge increase of visits to this blog, but apparently there is not yet a movie with this title (although there are plenty of [whatever famous American movie or tv series] XXX: a porn parody). If you came here for this reason sorry for that.

In case you have never seen Game of Thrones, all you need to know is that this is a fantasy HBO tv series. If you do not know what you usually see in an HBO series, you can guess it from the cartoon below (but I acknowledge usually that their series - in particular this Game of Thrones - are also quite enjoyable).

Dredd vs. Anna Karenina

Actually this is a one week old thing, but I forgot to post it so I do it now. Basically last weeks' UK boxoffice duel was between Dredd 3D and Anna Karenina, as some magazines said - but from my point of view there was no doubt at all: I have nothing against Anna Karenina and I didn't even know about this movie... maybe its good, but Dredd had the priority! However, although the 18-rating limitation Dredd was the winner. So in something like 3 minutes I did this silly and awfully drawn cartoon, straight from my mind to pen on paper, where I represented this victory merging the biggest moments from the two movies (I mean, I haven't seen this Anna Karenina adaptation but if it is faithful to the original I suppose that's what happen).

PS: it's not that I have badly drawn Keira Knightley, this is exactly how I see her - sexy like dead branch.

Judge Dredd vs. Andy Capp

Last Friday I went to see the new movie adaptation of Judge Dredd, and it was awesome! In the past couple of years, since I moved to the UK, I had the possibility to appreciate Judge Dredd adventures straight from the pages of 2000 AD and it has been a pleasure to see this great comic series properly transposed on the big screen... I really hope they are going to make a sequel.

However, this was just to introduce this new cartoon I did in this Dredd-inspired state, and what I did is a mashup with another popular British comic strip belonging to a completely different style.

If you don't know Andy Capp by Reg Smythe you probably have lived on another planet during the past 50 years, it is quite well known even in Italy since it was published for decades on La settimana enigmistica.
However, just in case, you can read his strips on the Daily Mirror website (don't be worried about the surrounding tabloid stuff).

The real Sherlock Holmes is bored as well

I haven't been posting much stuff in the past couple of weeks, it' a period of academic commitments and other activities. However I wanted to share a quick, spontaneous (and quite ugly) cartoon I did yesterday at the NoGloss Film Festival, a fantastic event here in Leeds at his first edition (I hope there will be a second edition, and maybe I'll submit a short movie next time) on one of these long paper sheets made available for random drawing. And since so far I haven't depicted Sherlock Holmes doing one of his favourite spare time activities, I did it.

About The real Sherlock Holmes, I have to say that I already have a couple of new stories in mind for a second series, but I want to assemble some more ideas before officially starting it. Anyway, stay tuned!
